How do I upload videos to sites like YouTube or Vimeo so that I can then add them to my site?

There are a lot of video sites out there so we’re going to focus on the most popular – YouTube. Keep in mind that the layouts for websites change all of the time, so these instructions may not be exact depending on when you use them. We’ll try to keep them updated though.

First, you’ll need to follow our instructions for creating a YouTube account. After that’s done, follow these steps.

1. Go to www.youtube.com

2. Click the Sign In link

   

3. Enter the email and password that you signed up with and click the Sign In button

   

4. Click the Upload link

   

5. Click on the Upload Video button

   

6. Choose a video file from your computer and click Open

   

7. Enter the Title, Description, and Tags (short descriptions), and Category for your Video. We suggest that you choose the Nonprofit and Activism Category from the dropdown menu. Once you’re finished, click on the Save Changes button.

   

8. When your upload progress reaches 100%, your video has been uploaded

   

9. To get the web address for your video, click your account tab in the upper right hand corner and choose My Videos

   

10. Click on the link to the video you just uploaded

    

11. Copy the web address. You can paste it into Video section of your Bellstrike control panel so that the video shows up on your website.
